1. Service providers require a significant amount of trust from potential clients before they are ready to buy.
It’s so much easier to build trust with people if you show up in their email inbox day in and day out.
Not because you want to do a promotion, but if you build a relationship the right way with the long-game in mind.
They’ll recognize your name showing up daily in their inbox.
And if you write emails the right way…
By adding value, being entertaining, making recommendations that help them solve a pressing issue for them…
They’ll see your emails as a welcomed guest, rather than an unwanted pest – ready to hit the delete button because they don’t recognize who you are.
2. Building an email newsletter helps stay top of mind with your current clients and potential clients.
People don’t need to learn something new, they need to be reminded of what they already know.
In an ADHD kind of world where the interwebs and everything from screaming kids, teams messages, emails, to do lists, text messages is calling out for our attention –
A newsletter giving people tips based on your expertise reminds people why they came to you in the first place.
3. Traffic you rent vs. traffic you own
An email list is traffic you own.
Relying on social media is renting an audience since those accounts can be taken away at any time.
I once worked for a social media influencer where one of our social accounts got shut down and we were at a standstill in getting sales because our sales process depended on one social media platform.
4. Relentless follow-up
People buy when they’re ready, not when someone is ready to make a sale.
That alone means that if you’re not following up with your potential clients until they’re ready to make a buying decision… you’re leaving a lot of money on the table.
I recently had braces put on and I went through the free consultation two years ago.
Life got in the way and I didn’t go through with it.
Then I got the itch to pick up where I left off, made an appointment and got them put in.
If the orthodontist had a monthly newsletter reminding me of the benefits of getting braces and educating me on the process…
I may have gotten them sooner.
5. Regular email newsletters educate
A lot of objections can be overcome simply by educating your clients and prospects on your expertise and methodology.
It can bring down the anti-trust barrier over time by sharing stories, case studies, teaching valuable insights, and consistent communication.
6. Solves the inconsistent leads and clients issue
If a service provider educates their potential clients and existing clients on their services and unique way of doing things…
Income becomes predictable because they can simply email their list and offer a promotion every month to help them bring more clients through their doors.
And you can focus on what you’d rather do instead…
Serving your clients.
And that’s just the tip of the email newsletter iceberg.
